40% VOTED GREEN in 2023
(Newnham Ward, Cambridge City Council Elections 4th May 2023)
The Cambridge City Council, held by Labour
since 2014, has pursued policies to relentlessly
expand the city. This unsustainable drive has
failed to provide affordable homes, devastated
the Green Belt and changed the character of
our city as many people are priced out to
villages that are poorly connected via public
transport.
Breaking onto the City Council in 2021, our small
group of elected Green Councillors have already
had a big impact. From championing residents’
needs to highlighting the negative social and
environmental impact of unfettered development
on our communities, the conversation is
changing.
The Cambridge Green Party is the only local party
providing a credible vision for a fairer, more
sustainable city. As our support grows, and more
Green councillors elected, our vision can become
a reality.
